2006 Brno Chair, Model 255 by Mies van der Rohe for Knoll in Chromed Steel
This is a Brno Chair, Model 255, originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929. This example was manufactured in the United States by Knoll in 2006. It features bent chromed-steel arms, and has a cantilever base. The flat bar construction was some of the first of its kind, as opposed to the tubular stylings of the Bauhaus. With its advent in 29’-30’, the design would stake its origins in the tail end of the Bauhaus period, which ended in 33’.
This listing is for one Brno chair. Each chair measures 31.5 inches in height, 22.75 inches in width, and 22.5 inches deep. The seat height is 17.5 inches. While this piece is pre-owned and may show signs of use, it remains in good used condition. Please see photos.
