C. 1950 Herman Miller Eames Zenith SAX Fiberglass Rope Edge Arm Shell Chair
This is a Zenith SAX Arm Chair, originally designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1950. This particular example was produced by Herman Miller in the USA C. 1950. The chair is comprised of a steel base with a parchment colored fiberglass shell seat. SAX is an acronym for Standard Arm Chair on an X Base. This example does have the coveted rope edge and its original label.
The chair measures 23.5 inches deep, 24.5 inches wide, and 29.75 inches high with a seat height of 16.5 inches. This piece does show wear consistent with use, but overall is in good to very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
