1960s Four-Drawer Chest / Dresser / Cabinet by Aino and Alvar Aalto for Artek in Birch
This is a handsome chest of drawers in bleached Finnish Birch, initially designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto for Artek in the 1950s. These particular pieces date to the 1960s. We currently have a set of two dressers and a coordinating removable desktop, and this listing is for the smaller dresser. The larger dresser and desktop may be purchased separately or in conjunction with this piece. The pieces feature cases and drawers made of Finnish Birch, and each of the segments are emblazoned underneath with the Artek stamp.
This dresser measures 22 inches long, 26.5 inches wide, and is 25.75 inches high. The piece is quite clean, with some scratches and scrapes along the edges, and some scuffs on the top. Overall, this dresser is in good condition with some signs of age. Please see photos. It came from the home of the original owners, who were major collectors of Scandinavian design.
