1950s Maria Flap Folding Dining Table By Bruno Mathsson For Firma Karl Mathsson in Teak and Birch
This is a gateleg ‘Maria Flap’ folding dining table, initially designed by Bruno Mathsson in 1936. This example was produced by Karl Mathsson in Värnamo, Sweden in the 1950s. The piece is appropriately stamped "Bruno Mathsson Design, Made in Sweden". This edition is done with a solid beechwood frame, and has a teak top.
The piece measures 35.5 inches deep, 110 inches wide, and 28.5 inches high. We’ve just had this piece lightly refinished and conditioned, and it is in lovely shape. There is one thoughtful repair evident on the edge, please see photo. Overall, the piece is in very good condition.
