SOLD 2013 Flat Bar Brno Chair, Model 255 by Mies van der Rohe for Knoll in Satin Chrome and Black Leather 8x Available
This is a Brno Chair, originally designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929. This example was manufactured in the United States by Knoll. It features bent chromed flat bar steel arms and has a cantilever base. These examples feature leather arm pads. The flat bar construction was some of the first of its kind, as opposed to the tubular stylings of the Bauhaus. With its introduction in 1929-1930, the design would stake its origins in the tail end of the Bauhaus period, which ended in 1933. These examples have black leather upholstery and the less common satin chrome finish, as opposed to the shiny polished chrome.
This listing price is for one Brno chair, but we have eight in our inventory. Please inquire if you should need more than one. Each chair measures 31.5 inches in height, 22.75 inches in width, and 22.5 inches deep. The seat height is 17.5 inches. While this piece is pre-owned and may show signs of use, it remains in very good condition. Please see photos. These chairs came from the headquarters of Ritz Carlton.
