SOLD 2012 Platner Dining Table by Warren Platner for Knoll in Custom 48 inch Red Acrylic
This is a Platner dining table, initially designed by Warren Platner for Knoll in 1966. This example dates to the circa 2012. Its design features a base constructed with vertical steel rods that are welded to circular horizontal and edge-framing rods. It is truly a work of art. The custom top appears to be made from an acrylic with similar thickness and detailing to the Saarinen and Platner wood tops. This was a Knoll custom order for a hedge fund office. It was among many other incredible works, including recent production Poul Kjaerholm furniture.
The table measures 48 inches in diameter and has a height of 28 inches. The steel frame is in good shape, with a few small surface blemishes. The red acrylic top has some light scratches and scuffs. Overall, this table is in very good condition with light wear. Please see photos.
