SOLD 1975 Herman Miller Eames 671 Ottoman for Eames Lounge 670 Brazilian Rosewood
Up for auction is an original 1975 Herman Miller 671 ottoman designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The ottoman was designed alongside its partner, the Eames 670 lounge chair and is one of the most iconic designs in the world. This example is all original and has Brazilian rosewood as well as a black leather cushion. As this was made post-1971, the cushion has the foam/fiberfill, which allows the cushion to wear less over time. The ottoman is in overall excellent shape and has fantastic grain.
Cushion:
Overall, the cushion is in great condition. The backing is original and has held up well. Leather has minor signs of wear and minuscule scratches in a couple of spots, but nothing other than usual signs of use.
Wood:
The rosewood shell is in excellent condition. There are no major scratches on the faces that I can see and the finish feels smooth.
Bases and Metal
The aluminum base is in fine shape. The feet move nicely, paint is all there, and aluminum looks great.
