This is an authentic circa 1980s production Knoll Barcelona chair, originally designed by Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 1929. The design features a graceful polished stainless steel frame (notably more hand crafted than the current chromed examples) and black leather upholstery. This piece was made completely by hand, upholstered with panels of leather that were produced from a single cowhide. The chair was produced by Knoll, the only authorized manufacturer of van der Rohe’s designs since 1953.

The chair measures 29.5 inches wide, 30 inches deep, and has a back height of 30.5 inches. The seat height is 17 inches. It has aged beautifully. The leather has taken on a deep rich patina and is soft & supple. The frame is in excellent vintage condition, showing some light wear from use.

We have two or three examples from the same original owner also available, along with two matching ottomans / stools. If interested in others, feel free to inquire. It should also be noted that the last two photos have the cushions switched in error. The cushions are correct and fitted for the chair.
