SOLD 2018 Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman Models 670 and 671 by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in Ash and Ivory Leather
This is an Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, model numbers 670 and 671, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1956. This particular set dates to circa 2018. It features a frame of White Ash wood, and has soft leather upholstery in a light cream hue. This version has a white enameled-aluminum base that swivels. The Eames lounge chair and its accompanying ottoman are perhaps some of the most recognizable post-war American furniture designs. They’ve been in continuous production since originally launched in 1956 due to constant demand.
The lounge chair measures 32.75 inches deep, 32.75 inches wide, and 31.5 inches high. It has a 15-inch seat height. The ottoman measures 21.5 inches long, 26 inches wide, and 17.25 inches high. This set is in very good condition with some small scratches and nicks to the frame, and some darkening to leather around edges. There is an indentation in the center edge of the ottoman cushion, which appears to be from how it was stored for a time. We should be able to help reduce this visibility with heat and also with use, though the seat and ottoman cushion are also interchangeable, so perhaps it can be hidden by using it on the chair. Overall, this set is in good condition with light wear apparent. Please see photos.
