SOLD Rare Eames For Herman Miller 3473 Sofa
Listed for sale is an extremely rare Eames 3473 three passenger sofa designed by Charles and Ray Eames, made by Herman Miller. The design is so rare because it was discontinued by Herman Miller after only a couple of years of production due to the high costs involved in manufacturing the sofa due to detailing the aluminum and complex construction techniques. Thus, this stands as one of the most rare Eames designs to come across. In terms of condition, the sofa looks fantastic and retains its original materials. It seems that the seat upholstery may have been redone at one point in time, however, may be original as well. The backrest shows minimal wear, but does have a repaired area in the top right corner, which is not visible from a few feet away, but can be seen if you are very close to the piece. Structurally, it is perfect. The aluminum base pieces are in fantastic shape and show patina. If desired, the base could also be polished quickly and with ease.

Excellent condition with repaired area in top right corner and a couple of minuscule nicks in the back (which do not affect the sofa structurally whatsoever and can barely be seen).
Bases and Metal
The aluminum parts are in beautiful condition with no significant flaws to be noted.
