1973 Pair of Richard Schultz for Knoll 1966 Series Rare Armless Lounge Chairs
Listed for sale is an original pair of rare 1966 series armless lounge chairs, designed by Richard Schultz and produced by Knoll International. This set was acquired from a the son of a real estate developer, who was friendly with a Knoll executive throughout the 1960s and 1970s. During that time, this developer amassed a collection of well over 100 pieces of Knoll furniture, which furnished his homes in Florida, Connecticut, and New York. Most notably, we acquired his extensive collection of Richard Schultz 1966 Series furniture, including these lounge chairs, which were purchased right around 1973. Condition overall is very good for examples of this vintage. The slings are in nice and usable condition with some wear from use. The frames have just been freshly re-coated with the original powder coating process.
The chairs measure 26.5 inches tall by 22.5 inches wide and 28.5 inches deep. These chairs are no longer in production.
The price listed includes both chairs. Multiple pairs are available if interested.
