1958 Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman 670 & 671 by Charles and Ray Eames in New Tan Leather
This is an original Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, models 670 and 671, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1956. This set dates to ca. 1958. The shells on this set are composed of Brazilian Rosewood, and the upholstery has been freshly redone in smooth tan Italian leather. Both pieces have aluminum bases with brushed aluminum top surfaces, and matte black powder coated sides. This set is widely considered one of the most significant designs of the 20th century.
The lounge chair measures 33 inches long, 33 inches wide, and is 31.5 inches high. It has a seat height of 15 inches and an arm height of 19 inches. The ottoman measures 21.5 inches long, 26 inches wide, and is 17.25 inches high. There are some scuffs and scratches on the base, and some patina is present on the brushed aluminum tops. The leather is fresh and is in pristine shape. Overall, this set is in good condition with light wear. Please see photos.
