1960s Wassily Lounge Chair, Model B3 by Marcel Breuer for Gavina / Knoll in Original Canvas 4x Available
These are original Wassily Lounge Chairs, model B3, initially designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925. These particular examples were produced by Gavina in Italy in the 1960s, and were imported and distributed by Knoll. The listed price includes one chair, and we have 4 available for purchase. These chairs have tan canvas upholstery and chromed-steel frames that are tubular in nature, emblematic of Breuer’s best-known works.
Each chair measures 27 inches deep, 31 inches wide, and is 28.75 inches high. They have a seat height of 16.5 inches, and an arm height of 23 inches. There is fading to the upholstery and there are some stains. The frames show pitting and rust throughout. They came to us from a home in coastal Florida. We did some cleaning on one chair, which helped to remove some of the more substantial grime. The appearance is quite interesting as/is. To truly make the frames gleam again, it would likely require re-chroming or aggressive work on a grinding/buffing wheel. Please see photos. Most of the chairs still retain a Gavina label, original Knoll label, or both of a couple of the chairs. The originality is what makes these so special.
