SOLD 1954 Set of Four Eames Herman Miller Zenith LAX Lounge Chair Armshell Fiberglass
Listed for sale is an original set of 4, 1954 Fiberglas LAX armshell chairs, designed by Charles and Ray Eames. These examples were produced at Zenith's manufacturing facilities for Herman Miller and features a number of notable early details.
These examples all have the early oversized shock mounts and original hardware. They also feature the 1954 boot glides and heavy X bases, as opposed to the later H bases.
These are particularly rare in that they are an unusual color and feature the LAX lounge chair bases.
These chairs came from the same estate and were purchased new together. It is particularly unusual to see an original set of four from such an early production state. More so, a set of four LAX chairs is extra special.
Condition overall is very good to excellent vintage condition with some light wear and fading noted. See photos.
