SOLD 1959 Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Rosewood Brand New Cushions
Listed for sale is an original vintage 1959 Herman Miller Eames lounge chair and ottoman with newly reupholstered cushions. The set is in excellent condition and has beautiful Brazillian rosewood panels along with supple, super high quality leather cushions. The Herman Miller patent label is still present on the chair and its accompanying white round label shows the traces around it (even though it seems to have fallen off).
Someone was smart enough to laminate the original delivery tag and stow it under the seat cushion, which shows a delivery date of 1959.
The chair also has three holes under its armrests, showing that its one of the first generation production models.
Cushions:
They are soft and properly plump. Leather is brand new and cushions have original down and goose feather fillings.
Wood:
The rosewood shells are in very good to excellent condition. Some wear as expected for an older chair, but generally very nice.
Shock Mounts:
The shock mounts appear to be holding strong and are in nice shape.
Bases and Metal
The aluminum bases are in great condition. The feet move nicely, paint is all there, and aluminum looks great.
