SOLD Original Robert Lovett Solid Cherry Custom Made Dresser George Nakashima Protege
Listed for sale is an original Robert Lovett custom made, solid cherry dresser. Robert Lovett was a renowned master woodworker from the New Hope, Pennsylvania area. He worked under George Nakashima for ten years before starting his independent studio. Numerous master woodworkers then worked under Robert Lovett, including Jonathan Yarnall, who became one of the most regarded woodworkers in George Nakashima's studio.
Nonetheless, this piece is a gorgeous 12-drawer dresser. The brass handles are in great shape, though could also be easily switched out if desired at any point for stainless/contemporary handles (as they unscrew and are of standard dimensions).
While I do not have exact dimensions on me at the moment (please inquire for precise dimensions), the piece measures approximately 40 inches tall by 18 inches deep and 60 inches in width.
The dresser drawer fronts and casing are made from solid cherry, whereas the back and drawer structure is poplar.
The piece is in terrific condition overall with some light wear. One side shows some fading from sun exposure as noted in photos. One drawer also shows wear on one corner. Generally, condition is excellent.
I also have a matching armoire available. Please inquire if interested.
