Listed for sale is a gorgeous Magnolia (also known as grandiflora) spherical turned wood bowl with high gloss finish, produced by renowned woodworker Philip Moulthrop. The piece came from a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania estate along with a number of other phenomenal sculpture works. The piece measures approximately 11.5 inches all around. The work is generally in very good condition with only minimal wear. The sculptural work is significant in that the Moulthrop family across three generations is known for producing some of the most iconic wood-turned forms of the 20th and 21st century. This example likely dates to the early 1980s.
