Listed for sale is an original C. 1961 Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman with original Brazilian rosewood panels and unusual brown leather cushions. This example is in excellent condition, with more recent (likely 1970s vintage) Herman Miller factory cushions. This is made clear, as the cushions are foam filled, though the cushion clips are earlier style. This means that the original owner likely had earlier cushions that were somewhat worn and ordered a new set of cushions from Herman Miller at great expense during the 70s or perhaps early 80s. The leather cushions have vibrant brown color, which is consistent throughout. The cushions show some light wear from use, though are excellent as compared to what is typical. There are no tears. As far as the aluminum bases and parts go, they are in nice condition and shine appropriately with light patina. The rosewood panels do not show any major chips or damage. It should be noted that there is a small veneer repair that was done on each side of the seat panel. This was done by a masterful woodworker, who is an expert in inlay work. Note, this is the exact lounge chair and ottoman that you would be receiving. It is the standard size, as the tall version was not made until the late 2010s.
