This is an original Egg Chair and Ottoman, initially designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1959. This set dates to 1967 and was produced in Denmark. It features an aluminum four-point swivel base and has newer black fabric upholstery, dating to the 2010s. The chair base sports a full 360-degree swivel. It is truly the quintessential Danish lounge set.

The chair measures 32 inches deep, 34 inches wide and is 41 inches high. It has a seat height of 15 inches. The ottoman measures 16 inches deep, 22 inches wide, and 14.5 inches tall. While the set dates to 1967, it remains in excellent condition. The foam is in super shape and the upholstery shows just the slightest bit of sun fading, giving off a slightly purple hue when viewed under direct light. The previous owner noted that it was somewhat recently reupholstered (a few years ago they say) by a master upholsterer, who trained with Fritz Hansen in Denmark. Please see photos.
