1970s Davis Allen of SOM Custom Oak and Chrome Credenza for General Fireproofing Co. 66 inch
This is a large oak credenza, designed in the early 1970s by Davis Allen during his forty-year tenure at SOM. SOM refers to the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. This piece is guaranteed to be an authentic piece made by General Fireproofing. It features lush oak siding on its front, back, and sides, and it sports polished stainless-steel pulls, legs, and trim. The piece is fully finished on all sides, allowing it to float in a room.
This credenza measures 20 inches long, 65.5 inches wide, and 26.25 inches high. There are some small superficial scrapes and nicks to the veneer, and there is light discoloration on the top surface. The edges also show some scuffs. Overall, this piece is in very good condition with light wear. Please see photos.
