SOLD 1976 Michel Cadestin & Georges Laurent Beaubourg Chair Teda France for Centre Pompidou
Listed for sale is an original Beaubourg chair from the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. The chair was designed by Michel Cadestin and Georges Laurent as part of a design competition conceived of from Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano. Jean Prouvé was the juror for this competition and thus, the chair's design had been vetted by some of the world's most extraordinary architects and designers.
This particular example is in very good to excellent vintage condition with some light wear from use over time. It is a striking design with a fabulous story behind it. The leather pad appears to be original and seems to be vegetable tanned leather based on the depth of color. See photos.
