1985 Eames Herman Miller EC175 Upholstered Fiberglass Shell Chair Museum Quality
Listed for sale is a very rare and marvelous EC175-8 chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, produced by Herman Miller. This is one of the more unique and later Eames designs, building upon the 1950's fiberglass innovations, though suiting different functions.
This particular example came from a Dauphin County, Pennsylvania office environment, where it was seemingly seldom used.
The chair is in museum quality condition and seems to be one of only a few nicely preserved examples remaining. This example has a production date, noting 1985 as the year of manufacture.
As noted in photos, it features a maroon upholstery with black fiberglass back. The foam is in lovely condition and is neither hard nor deteriorated otherwise. It also retains the original seat pillow.
The chair does show some very light wear, though is seemingly one of the best preserved examples remaining.
