1970s Eames Aluminum Group Lounge Chair, model EA124 by Ray and Charles Eames for Herman Miller in Orange Alexander Girard-Designed Hopsack Fabric
This is an Eames Aluminum Group lounge chair, model EA124, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1958. This particular chair dates to the 1970s. It is upholstered in an orange hopsack fabric designed by
Alexander Girard, and has a four star antler-form cast-aluminum base. The design features a sling seat that affords a very comfortable lounging experience.
This lounge chair measures 32.25 inches long, 25.75 inches wide, and 35 inches high. It has a seat height of 14.5 inches. The original hopsack fabric is in very good condition with some light wear. The aluminum arms have been freshly polished. The base has a light patina. Overall, this chair is in excellent vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Please see photos.
