1953 Eames RAR Rocking Chair by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in Fiberglass
This is a ‘RAR’ Rocking Chair, designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1950. This particular chair dates to around 1953. The piece consists of a fiberglass “shell” seat and back, and has steel legs & wooden runners. The parts are all original.
The rocking chair measures 28 inches long, 25 inches wide, and is 28 inches high. There is a beautiful patina on its fiberglass shell, with small scratches and dings present. The metal base shows a bit of patina. The runners show some water stains and some slight dings, but they look great. Overall, this chair is in very good vintage condition with slight wear.
