Listed for sale is a beautiful East Indian Laurel and Carpathian Elm Burl hanging cabinet by George Nakashima. The cabinet was crafted by Widdicomb furniture in Grand Rapids, MI. It is a rare and exceptional example of George Nakashima's earliest work. Soon after Nakashima came to Pennsylvania, he began building his studio. At this time, he also produced designs for Widdicomb and and created the Sundra series along with others, which used both solid hardwoods and exotic burl veneers in an effort to produce stunning and high quality pieces.

This cabinet was purchased in the early 1950's and was used by the same family until now. It accompanied an entire dining room set, which you can inquire about if desired.

The piece shows no signs of damage and does show signs of age. The patina is rich and lovely.
